Content and physical description
ContentJindřich Honzl has returned to Prague and asks whether Bohuslav Martinů has received a letter from Karlovy Vary and whether he has found Krečinský's Wedding in the library. He sends him translations of the author's plays that have now been published in this country. JH asks BM to send the medicine which JH had from Switzerland and which he cannot get because of currency difficulties. He hopes that the matter of royalties for the performance of his works in this country has been settled. He would like to know the development of BM's ideas on the opera theme. There are discussions about this in this country - the first place is to give opera a contemporary theme, the second place is the themes of Czech classics, the third place is Soviet playwrights and Russian classics; this applies to drama and opera.
