Content and physical description
ContentVítězslava Kaprálová is becoming apathetic to everything and does not get along with anyone except Bohuslav Martinů. But she does not want him to feel that she is dependent on him. She would get to "that tramtaria" [the USA] in August at the earliest and would need several tens of thousands. But she doesn't want to go that far. She [and BM] attended a concert by [Hermann] Scherchen, and they both liked Bach's Suite for String Orchestra, 4 oboes and 3 trumpets best. On Tuesday VK is going to see the Hungarian Quartet [?], the programme is Beethoven. This week VK will talk to [Charles] Munch about her next study, ChM will rehearse RICERCARI BM. On Sunday evening VK plays her Elegy with [Jan] Šedivka at the student evening. Slowly beginning to believe in war, the whole Luxembourg Garden has been turned into shelters. VK is interested in the reviews on the performance of his string quartet. He has almost finished the second movement of XY [Concertina for violin, clarinet and orchestra].
