Vítězslava Kaprálová went to the conservatory to see [Marcel] Mihalovici to arrange the performance of her composition on Radio [Paris]. But he needs a piano lift, so they are to send it to her immediately (they can also include the Rustic Suite, which she would like to re-instrument). The third movement of the Partita is almost ready. She hasn't decided on going to America yet, they [with Bohuslav Martinů] have just been writing there. She has immersed herself a lot in composing, it brings her relief. She has already finished the first movement of the as yet untitled composition [Concertino] for violin, clarinet and orchestra. BM lurks that she is keeping the piece from him for the time being. On Saturday VK will probably go to Rouen to see Věrka [Uhlířová]. Rudek [Kopec] writes to her very little. In May there is to be a last concert in Triton, and BM's composition is on the programme [the concert took place on 8 May 1939 and TRE RICERCARI BM was played]. They are to send her critics after the [Presence] concert for the performance of her quartet [the concert of the Pesek Quartet of 14 April 1939]. She is now waiting in the café for BM [who is at the Pucs'] to go to Eschiko [actually Siréne Musicale?] to see if he will commission some smaller pieces from her, for she needs money. They have no news of the Novaks [apparently Stanislav and Frantiska Novak].
