Content and physical description
ContentToday the score of [CONCERTO FOR CEMBALA AND SMALL ORCHESTRA] by Bohuslav Martinů arrived, but it is very difficult and VK has only 5-6 days to rehearse it. The concert is organized by "Front Populer" and will be in the Gaveau Hall. There will be an advertisement in all the newspapers because FP is sympathetic to the CSR.
Of the Triton concert [23 May 1938] she liked only Jacques Ibert's [Concertino da camera]. Rudolf Firkušný did not come there and she could not get to [Charles] Munch [to excuse him from teaching]. But she did speak to [Alphonse] Leduc, whom she is supposed to go to on Friday at 4 o'clock to sign a contract with BM [but according to Karla Hartl, Kapralová signed a contract with La Siréne Musicale on 27 May 1938]. Her achievements, however, are the envy of many people. Among others, [Josef] Páleníček, [Karel] Šebánek and [František?] Smetana, who do not like how easily she achieved everything. BM even quarrelled with JP [Kapralová directly quotes their quarrel about the composition lessons BM was supposed to give JP], thus exacerbating the situation.
Madame "Louraine" [Marcelle de Lacour] asked BM if "the young man" would be able to learn the [harpsichord concerto], so BM had to correct her that it was a mademoiselle.
