Content and physical description
ContentLeondard Feist apologizes to Frank Rybka for not being able to spend as much time with him during his office visit yesterday. He had to take care of some pressing obligations, so he could not deal with the situation regarding the CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2. Enclosed is a copy of a letter Bohuslav Martinů sent to [Richard] French in 1955, highlighting in red what BM wrote about the piece. He wished the concerto not to be published until he had edited the piece. However, he did not devote himself to the work after that. The decision to publish is now up to the survivors, who administer the composer's estate. Associated Music Publishers paid a relatively large sum for this work and also for the CONCERTO FOR TWO PIANOS AND ORCHESTRA. According to LF, publishing the composition is the only hope of recouping the investment.
