Content and physical description
ContentRichard Klos sends to Luboš Sluka a copy of the complete musical material for Bohuslav Martinů's SONATA FOR TWO VIOLINS AND A Clavier. He asks for a publishing contract to be drawn up very soon and for Charlotte Martinů to be sent to France. SONATA FOR TWO PIANOS AND A PIANO has already been published by Raymond Deiss in Paris. The legal successor of this firm is Éditions Salabert. ChM offered the work for publication to the Czech Music Fund for Panton, believing that Éditions Salabert was not interested in the work. There was a misunderstanding, but a letter dated 1 June 1973 (to be attached) confirms that Éditions Salabert are releasing the work. ChM can therefore sign the contract with Panton. She should visit CSR at the end of May, health permitting. It would be better if she received the publishing contract and letter before her departure from France. RK therefore asks for the contract to be sent immediately. RK also writes that it would be good, however, if a photocopy of the letter from Éditions Salabert were attached to the contract so that it is clear that no rights are being infringed. It also asks that the loaned sheet music be treated confidentially and then returned. This is unique material and the manuscript has been lost.
