Content and physical description
ContentVítězslava Kaprálová writes to her parents after her first conducting lesson with Charles Munch. She was warmly received. After the lesson, they were still discussing her Military Symphony. VK solves problems with accommodation and meals. On Tuesday [Nov. 2] she had dinner at [Bohuslav and Charlotte] Martin's and then went to a concert conducted by [Fritz] Munch where BM introduced her to many people. The next day VK, accompanied by BM, went to the École Normale to enrol in a conducting course with ChM. She has not yet signed up for Nadia Boulanger's composition and instrumentation course because of her poor French and too much time. Tomorrow VK and BM are going to the [Czechoslovak] Embassy to see [Miloš] Šafránek. BM wants to introduce her to a number of people. She and BM will be correcting each other's compositions. She will give him the Concerto grosso and he will give her [Farewell and] Shatecek. VK is taking French lessons at the Alliance Française.
