ContentThis is an evaluation of Bohuslav Martinů's opera JULIETTE (SNÁŘ), the first premiere of which took place on 6 April 1989 and the second premiere on 12 April 1989 at the National Theatre. The 1938 production under the direction of Václav Talich is praised. The poetry has disappeared from the performance under review and the performance is icy cold. Despite the very good musical staging and the excellent performances of the soloists, the production is described as a failure. The performances of the individual soloists are also assessed. There are also economic results and an overview of reviews.
