Content and physical description
ContentRudolf Firkušný thanks Bohuslav Martinů for his letter and wishes him a speedy recovery. He apologizes for not writing to him on his birthday, so he sends him a belated congratulations. He has already written to Karel Šebánek about the concerts. RF has the scores of the CONCERTO FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2, the CONCERTO FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 3 and the CONCERTO FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 4 (INCANTATION). The printed material is with Boosey and Hawkes. He sold them both materials at BM's request years ago and since then the organization has requested performance materials directly from them. He last performed the CONCERT FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2 in The Hague and Amsterdam with the Concertgebouw (Van Beinum) in October 1958. He also played the CONCERT FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2 in Krefeld and Munchen-Gladbach and in Luxembourg. He also played the CONCERT FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 3 several times. There has never been a problem with the delivery of the material. RF does not understand why Ernst Roth does not know about this, both materials are printed and they took money for them. RF would have liked to keep the scores for study purposes. If BM would like details, he should write to M. Floothuis (Concertgebouw), he will know what materials they have received. The score and materials for the CONCERTO FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 4 (INCANTATION) are with RF at the request of Paul Fromm. RF will perform the work in Australia. He concludes with a farewell to BM and a greeting from [Martha Gerstel].
