Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks Jan Novák for his letter. He can't give him his phone number because he doesn't have a phone there. That was the reason he left New York - harassment. BM thanks for the news - it seems that the situation [in the Czechoslovakia] is better for him and they will be able to hear some of his works and JN [and Eliska Nováková] will be able to perform his THREE CZECH DANCES. BM met [Vítězslav] Nezval, who went to the Cannes Festival. VN informed him that he would be allowed to perform BM's stuff again. JN's songs are probably not for the public, but for the home and for connoisseurs. BM is happy that JN remembers him. JN is to write about his work. Surely there will be recognition. Isn't JN lonely? If JN goes to Polička he should say hello there. BM will wait for the trip home, maybe the big guys will finally come to an agreement and life will be more bearable. BM says hello to JN and EN.
