ContentK. [?] Van Epken writes to Jaroslav Mihule that in the book "Gedenk-klanken 1893-1963. Koninklijke Vlaamse Opera Antwerpen' (Antwerpen 1965) he found references to two ballets [with music by Bohuslav Martinů]: 1) Doumka (Dumka) [it is not clear what BM composition this is], premiered 26 November 1931, choreographer unknown, two performances; 2) De Spin (The spider) with unspecified music by BM [it is PARTITA, H 212], premiered 2 February 1933, three performances. The sender encloses a copy of one page from the Antwerp Opera's "guldenboek" [i.e., apparently a guest book] and asks if BM's manuscript is there [a contemporary record from February 1933 of the premiere of the ballet to Martinů's PARTITA with performers' signatures - apparently BM's manuscript is not there - he was not present at the premiere - a copy of the document is held by IBM in the 1933 Programs Fund]. The post-1963 archive is in disarray.
