Content and physical description
ContentKarel Šebánek discovered that the LIDIC material should have been sent to Prague long ago. For the time being, however, it is still with [Josef] Löwenbach, who is now in London. It was certainly recommended by [Jan] Löwenbach. KS recommended the purchase of LIDIC to the Ministry of Information. He was therefore commissioned to bring the manuscript from London. Within a fortnight KS will fly there and will also stop at the Embassy in Paris, where the manuscript package is also said to be. Melantrich wants to publish everything if possible. But it may not be able to ask for compositions from 1919-1945 because B[ohuslav Martinů] did not receive the agreed rent. There would be something to be made from these things. KS will write to [BM] to consult with JaL and to submit a proposal for a contract, which would then be signed by him afterwards. He is surprised that [Jiri] Mucha did not bring the songs. I think [František] Bartos has already written to BM. [František] Popelka has a problem to agree on a date. If Ondříček's quartet can do it, the pianist can't. [Václav] Holzknecht can't, [Otakar] Vondrovic probably can't either. Perhaps Zdeněk Jílek or Josef Páleníček will go. He has given the radio a performance of FANTASY FOR TWO PIANOS, which will be performed by the end of the month by [Oldřich] Letfus and [Jan] Kaláb.
