| Content | This is an internal communication of the National Theatre. In a letter dated 7 March 1963, the director of the National Theatre requested the approval of the Ministry of Education and Culture to invite Charlotte Martinů (Bohuslav Martinů's wife) to the premiere of his opera JULIETTA (SNAR). The author of the libretto, Georges Neveux, was also to be invited. The Ministry approved both visits, but they did not take place and were postponed until the Prague Spring. On 27 May 1963, only CHM would come for a maximum of one week. She will pay her own way, the National Theatre will pay for accommodation and subsistence. The National Theatre will follow the instructions of the Ministry; the guest will be entitled to a daily allowance of 100,- for category III. From this amount 1/3 will be deducted to cover accommodation. This is paid in full even if the cost exceeds 1/3. It follows that the CHM will receive a daily allowance of 67,- and will be reimbursed for accommodation. The possibility of using the royalty income from the operation of the opera house is used to provide for this. Therefore, the National Theatre asks Dilio to provide the over-measured amount for CHM in cash from royalties. This was secured by a call to Zdeněk Pechold on 23 May 1963. The Opera administration will agree with ZD by telephone the amount, the method of delivery and the manner of Dilia's participation in CHM's stay in Prague, as Dilia, as its legal representative in Prague, also wants to welcome her. On behalf of the National Theatre, the Opera Administration is in charge of CHM's stay in Prague.
There is also an instruction to the accounting department to arrange a daily diet for CHM and to pay for the accommodation from the theatre's funds according to the relevant hotel invoice. Furthermore, they are to advance a deposit of 250,- to Isha Krejci so that CHM can be provided with pocket money upon arrival.
At the end there is also an instruction to the opera administration to arrange everything. Above all, to agree in time with the ZP and to combine the amount of the National Theatre and Dilio as far as possible. |
