Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů wrote to Vítězslav Kaprálová about Stand [Novák], but it was just a kind of sloppy writing, in case someone else read it. VK is certainly already in Prague. BM is curious how VK will get there. He is convinced that he will get it [the scholarship?]. VK must be angry that he sent her a bug letter in response to her penultimate letter. But so far BM has received nicer writing with a house and [dog and] pheasant tails. BM is going to the doctor today for sore eyes. BM is still going to see [Samuel] Dushkin now and they are working on the Czech Suite [Concertante Suite for Violin and Orchestra]. The [Suite] looks different now but it has given him a lot of work. Three are already in sketch and the fourth is on its way. Ruda F[irkušný] was there and told us about London and also about VK. RF played the Dvořák concerto [in Paris], but he's gone again. I'm sure he will be back, but by then VK may be there. BM asks what SN is doing, whether he is furious or apathetic. BM didn't want to write to him anymore because SN supposedly mixes everything together and in the end nothing comes of it. Does VK have news from Universal about the Suite? If it all works out, he has to thank S [Otakar Šourka] somehow, because he certainly cared a lot about the matter. When is VK coming?
