Content and physical description
ContentThis is the protocol (No. 4 - 72/73) for the preparation of the National Theatre ballet ŠPALÍČEK (by Bohuslav Martinů) from the production meeting held on 12 September 1972. Antonín Landa mentions that the work is divided into three parts and is a typical Czech affair. Emerich Gabzdyl said that according to BM they are nursery rhymes and children's games, combining folk motifs with a fairy tale. According to Zdenek Seydl, the music is beautiful. In correspondence between BM and Miloš Šafránek, BM writes that he does not mean complete folklore, but everything is composed in a higher position, he asked the artist to remove the folklore. Further, the meeting discussed the conditions and possibilities of the set, costumes, props, etc. and rehearsal dates were set. The premiere will take place on December 7, 1972. The estimated number of performances is 50, with a transfer to the Estates Theatre being envisaged.
