Content and physical description
ContentCharlotte Martinů received a letter from Karel Šebánek concerning the book. She doesn't understand why he doesn't go to Vojtěch Strnad. He always takes what doesn't belong to him and then profits from it. Jaromír Špaček told KS that he was in Paris in November. He was looking for a publisher to publish his book in France. ChM wrote to VS that she still had not received the two discs of BERGERETTES, the cover by Jan Zrzavý and also the discs of JULIETTA with French lyrics. It has been three years since she received this shipment from Jiří Macek. He therefore asks KS to take care of the whole matter. Mario Bois no longer works at Boosey & Hawkes, but at Édition de Valmalette. ChM told JS not to send Panton so many scores, five will be plenty. She would otherwise have problems at the French border. She was ill again, so she went to Nice because it is cold and rainy in Vieux-Moulin. Before leaving for Paris, she called Georges Neveux, whom she didn't reach. He is very busy running the television. So the translation of JULIET is not going very well. There was some reading from a disc which was a great success. The opera is to be performed at the Opera Comique or in Lyon. But ChM does not hold this view, for he knows these empty promises. He thinks it will be long dead when the work is performed. He reminds KS to go to Kolar and sends his Prague address. She is not happy with Panton who cannot edit with [Lothar] Faber the book by [Brian] Large. He will see Zdeněk Mácal either in Paris or in Lyon. She is surprised that she has no information about [Anna] Špačková. She hopes that everything is all right. She asks KS to show her this letter. If KS needs anything, it is better to deal with it through JS as ChM does not understand him so well. She regrets not going to Wiesbaden. The program was wonderful and according to Bärenreiter also very successful.
