Content and physical description
ContentKarel Šebánek finally succeeded in getting preparations for the publication of Bohuslav Martinů's works underway after a sharply worded interview in Panton and the Czech Music Fund. Now it looks good. ChM receives negative news from Panton about Brian Large's book. Mitchel from the Fabre and Fabre [Faber & Faber] edition was in Prague and left the manuscript. They are selling an English translation of Milos Safranek's book in the UK, but there is no hope for publication. At Strnad's he was told that two copies of the discs with Zrzavý's picture were sent to ChM's address while she was still in Prague. The State Music Publishing House wants the Moths and Swarms, the SMYČCOVÝ KVARTET No. 1, the INCANTATIONS and the unpublished choruses for publication. The latter can be obtained from Zouhar in a copy. And also the children's skldabs shown by the architect Sommer of Polička in Brno. Panton has asked KS for permission to publish SPRING IN THE GARDEN (published by Zdeněk Vlk, no longer in existence). Things are in motion and ChM can write an opinion. [Jiri] Jaroch of Czech Radio promised KS to record BM's works with Radio Brno. Also, KS professors from Brno want to perform chamber works at the Convatoire publicly. Now he asks about music at Eschig in Paris and at Boosey in London about this. He has read the book Home, Music and the World and has decided to annul his entire work. He has written 158 pages on BM, but as everything is in that book he does not want to plagiarize any more. He dealt with this for over 16 months and it was supposed to be a surprise for ChM.
