| Content | Nina Jirsíková writes to the directorate of the National Theatre and encloses the cast of the ballet ISTAR, which she will choreograph. The libretto is adapted by Jan Reimoser, the set is by Josef Svoboda, the costumes by Jan Kropáček. The ballet is built entirely on large ensembles (only 3 solos), so a NJ-led ballet company is not sufficient. There are only 23 people left for the large chorus scenes, so for scenes that are meant to have a massive crowd, there might only be 12-15 people on stage. It would be detrimental to the whole show and could look ridiculous. NJ writes that it could not be artistically responsible for such a performance, so it is asking ballet director Sasha Makhov to lend 20 people to fill out the company, in addition to the 12 girls already promised from the prep school. NJ is willing to work with the troupes in the afternoons so as not to hamper SM's work in any way. NJ hopes that her request will be granted; in this case it is only the interest of the theatre and she expects an early resolution so that she can begin staging the ballet.
There is also a handwritten note from Sasha Makhov: In the opinion of SM, the ballet can be cast with members of the ballet company of the 5 May Theatre, but at the repeated urgent request of NJ, it will release 12 members of the National Theatre Ballet on the condition that these members begin rehearsals after the premiere of Sleeping Beauty and that rehearsals must not interfere with the National Theatre Ballet's work schedule. In the end, he lists the assigned members: Záleská, Havránková, Podrabská, Marvanová, Barošová, Hüttlová, Kotálová, Ždichyncová, J. Burianová, Arkas, Baštář and Sedláček. |
