Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů congratulates Karel Boleslav Jirák on his 65th birthday. There is a lot of talk about BM's trip to the Czechoslovakia. BM irons it out with a little cantata [OPENING OF THE STUDENTS] and is played. From [Milos] Safranek and [Milos] Sadl he has glimpses of the situation at home. A visit by BM would be a great official parade and BM doesn't know if it would be misinterpreted in the US. BM will go to the State Department and ask about their position. They wouldn't have been detained in the CSR. [Lev] Sychrava returns to the CSR and BM doesn't know whether to meddle in this propaganda. KBJ is to keep this to himself. [Jan] Löwenbach is ill.
