Dear Mr. Sacher,

Thank you for your letter of the 11th February. I hope you don’t object to the fact that we have translated the dedication of Martinu’s “Toccata e due Cazoni” into English.

I know that Ben has your Divertimento, or whatever it will turn out to be, in his mind but I can’t guess when he will get down to it. He will leave for Austria – concerts and skiing – next week, but is coming back at the end of March. In May, I think on the 24th, he wil coduct “Billy Budd” with the Covent Garden Opera Company in Paris. The first German performance is to be on the 2nd March, in Wiesbaden.

Is there any chance of your coming soon to London?

With kind regards to you both,

                                                               Yours sincerely,

                                                               [podpis]

                                                               Erwin Stein
