Dear Mr. Stein,

Your Hire Department has replied to me on your instruction. I have the pleasure now to tell you that the manuscript score of Strawinsky’s “Persephone” has meanwhile arrived. Thank you so much for the trouble you have taken.

Martinu, Sinfonia concertante: I would regret it very much if I could not buy the material. The Sinfonia has been written on commission and the composer has received a fee. Furthermore the work is dedicated to my wife (should not the dedication be mentioned in the score?). In view of all these circumstances I should think, there ought to be made an exception to your strict rule and the material be sold to me.

Hoping to receive a favourable answer, I remain

                                                                                                              yours sincerely

N.B. There are still some mistakes in the score of the SINFONIA CONCERTANTE. I hope they can be corrected before the final printing.
