Mr Paul Sacher,

Schoenenberg,

Pratteln (Basel)

Dear Mr Sacher,

Thank you for your letter of the 6th October. It was quite a shock for us that Martinu’s paging was wrong. He also put the rehearsal number “21” in the wrong place! The only good thing is that we could repair the damage before the score was printed. The parts are being corrected, and we shall send you new solo parts in a few days time.

                STRAWINSKY – PERSEPHONE

I understand that the manuscript score will be sent to you from Messrs Carisch as soon as they have received the printed score.

                BARTOK – CANTATA PROFANA

We got a clean copy of the score from Vienna, but the printing of the German and Hungarian texts is so cramped, that it is quite a difficult job to insert legible English words. You will receive a copy as soon as this is done.

                                                               With kind regards,

                                                                               Yours sincerely,

                                                                                              [podpis]

                                                                                              ERWIN STEIN
