Content and physical description
ContentPaul Sacher answers Erwin Stein's question on the major key of Bohuslav Martinů's SINFONIA CONCERTANTE. BM has tentatively set the length at 16 minutes. The PS gives an estimate of the length of the individual movements; in total the performance should not exceed 20 minutes.
Transcription of the letter

[...] I can inform you that Martinu estimated the duration of his SINFONIA CONCERTANTE on 16’. On control I found that the first movement lasts 8’, the second 31/2’ and the last 71/2’, together 19’. I suppose your estimation is too long. A performance will probably not take more than 20’.
