23rd November 1949
Dear Mr. Stein,
Thank you for your letters of 10th and 17th November and the master copies and slips for Strawinsky STRING CONCERTO. As the library of the Kammerorchester possesses more parts than you have sent slips to me, I would be grateful to you for sending me another
2 1st violins
2 2nd violins
2 violas
1 cello
1 doublebass
I regret to say that I never received the corrected full score of this String Concerto. I wonder if you have equally printed slips for the full score? If so, will you please send me two sets, one for my Kammerorchester copy and one for my own score.
In a few days I shall return you the score of Martinu’s SINFONIA CONCERTANTE.
My wife and I are actually coming to London in December and will stay there for ten days, as I am engaged to conduct four concerts at the BBC. I shall be glad to meet you then. Please give my kind regards to your wife.
Yours sincerely
Erwin Stein Esq.
