Content and physical description
ContentDilia responds to a request from Boosey & Hawkes for material on Richard Strauss's Rosenkavalier and Josephslegende, which are the property of the National Theatre in Prague. Dilia has verified that both works are in the ND archives (Rosenkavalier from 1911, Josephslegende from 1922). If the ND lends material to another Czechoslovak theatre, that theatre must of course pay the rental fee as if the material had been delivered from B&H.
In March 1957, the ND will present THE FAIRY ON THE BRIDGE. The writer asks whether B&H can send the material on time, i.e. in January 1957. He also asks for a piano excerpt and libretto for Stravinsky's The Life of a Prodigal, in which ND is interested.
Dilia apologizes for not having communicated to B&H her position on the general contract - director Vojtech Strnad is still ill.
