Content and physical description
ContentMarie Fleischer asks Bohuslav Martinů if she can perform his MONTHS at the November evening for the Society for the Cultivation of Song. She also asks him to possibly send other compositions. She has heard from Ota Zítek that BM is now in Polička. She therefore hopes that this letter will reach the right hands. She could make a trip to see him, or BM to Brno as he had promised earlier, to agree on the tempo and manner of performing his songs. Karel Boleslav Jirák is coming this week to conduct his Ladislav Vycpalek cycle Awakening, in which MF sings. Today the Moravian Composers Club is singing the cycle Awakening, which also includes the song March to words by Karel Toman. MF compares this song with BM's composition of the same name. At the end of the letter MF writes that he looks forward to performing BM's songs because they are sweet in expression and very simple.
