ContentErnst Roth thanks Vojtěch Strnad for his letter of 19 November 1955 and for the draft agreement on Bohuslav Martinů's dramatic works.
He agrees in principle with the proposed terms. He encloses his own proposal, in which he formulates these conditions in a different order, and sends the addressee a copy for consideration. In the draft Dilia, the reference to THE HIGHWAY ON THE BRIDGE should be modified. The opera belongs to Dilia in the territory it represents [Czechoslovakia]. According to BM, Czech Radio Prague owns only the material that the radio owns. However, B&H would be willing to recognize the piece as the property of Dilia in all countries mentioned in the Dilia concept in paragraph IV [i.e., "people's democratic" countries, see BH 1955-11-14].
In paragraph VI, the addressee probably did not have in mind a discount, but a commission on rent. ER increased the commission to match B&H's contract with Aria.
When ER gets comments from Dilia, he will send them the final contract to sign.
