ContentDilia writes to the addressee with several points concerning his letter of 25.8.1955 concerning JULIETTA.
His translation rights remain intact, of course. For the translation of the libretto, 8% of the 10% of the gross receipts is allocated to the composer and librettist and 2% to the translator. No doubt the addressee will receive the agreed amount, but he has yet to comment.
The publishing rights are held by Melantrich, which Dilia represents. Dilia is now in talks with Boosey & Hawkes about joint representation of Bohuslav Martinů's works. They will agree with them on a legally acceptable solution.
The issue of the addressee's translation can be resolved in two ways: either he hands over all translation rights to Dilia and Dilia delivers his share of each German-language performance, or he is to give Dilia exclusive representation of his translation for the duration of the copyright.
They ask the addressee to comment and add that the transfer of the right is a common thing.
