ContentThe Paris office of Boosey & Hawkes thanks Dilia for her letter of 10.11.1965 concerning JULIETTA. The opera has been performed at the ORTF in a translation by Bronislaw Horowitz, which belongs to the ORTF. Now, however, the opera is requested not in Horowitz's version but in Bohuslav Martinů's translation.
They ask if Dilia would agree to use the BM version and if they would pay the cost of copies of the vocal parts and orchestral score with the original French text of the BM.
It is unlikely that B&H would get approval from both BH and ORTF to use the Horowitz translation, so in future it would be preferable to use the BM version.
B&H have a copy of the piano lift with the BM translation in Paris and can send it.
