Content and physical description
ContentThe author of the letter has been to Berlin recently, had the opportunity to make the acquaintance of the delegate Camill Hoffmann and spoke with him about the new opera. The work had also been recommended to Krolloper who would like to go over the score (which they have) soon. Camill Hoffmann, who is especially interested in Martinů’s work, urged him to keep on pursuing the opera, which the author was happy to promise him. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to do it because Universal Edition Vienna had transferred priority rights to Bohuslav Martinů. However, should Bohuslav Martinů want them to deal with it, he should kindly send them the text and the piano reduction.
