Content and physical description
ContentEleuthère Lovreglio reminds Dilia that around the end of December 1968 he sent them an edited French translation of JULIETTE at Charlotte Martinů's request and to Dilia's credit.
This adaptation, made in two printed piano excerpts, was made possible by the original manuscript and three supplementary manuscript notebooks written directly by Bohuslav Martinů. The musical notation was strictly respected, and the editing was carried out taking into account the original manuscripts. In this way it was possible to achieve consistency between the music and the text (accents, phrasing) as well as between the original text and the translation (sound, breaths).
The work required 264 hours. EL asks Dilia to comment on the payment: since he sent them the parcel, they still haven't contacted him. He also hopes to be credited on the score as the author of a revised translation, taking into account the sound of the language.
