Content and physical description
ContentWilhelm Stecker reports that George Szell of the German Theatre in Prague wrote about Martin's violin concerto [CONCERT FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHESTRA No. 1]. The concert is scheduled, together with a radio broadcast, for 22 January 1934. Szell, however, does not know what to do because he has heard from Simon in Paris that Samuel Dushkin is not in agreement with the current form of the concerto. WS encloses a letter for Szell and asks Dushkin to reply to him promptly about what to write to Szell. Martinů has also already been so advised. The piano excerpt of the last two movements as well as the score were sent to Dushkin in Paris. Further, WS se SD discusses the circumstances of the publication of Stravinsky's "Pastorale" and the success of Dushkin's concert tour in Spain.
