Content and physical description
ContentSamuel Dushkin has just received a letter dated September 28, 1933. He is glad that Wilhelm Strecker received Martinů's [CONCERTO FOR MUSIC AND ORCHESTRA No. 1] in good order. He has yet to copy the score (!). Tempi, meters, etc. are not yet marked everywhere. SM must have a piano lift first, and as soon as possible! There are also a few places that he hasn't decided definitively in the violin part. Once he has a piano lift to hear it all, everything can be decided definitively in one day. He therefore begged Martinů to send Strecker the score as soon as possible. He would be very grateful if Strecker would send him the piano accompaniment [?] soon. He is glad that Prague wants the premiere; he thinks it is a good place to perform it for the first time. Martinů will come and they will work on it. The more he practices it, the more he likes it.
He has not yet told Strecker that Walter is no longer "representative". When he arrived in Paris he was introduced to Schiff, Stravinsky [?] and Simon, who is the am. representative for Europe.
