Content and physical description
ContentWilhelm Strecker writes that Bohuslav Martinů sent him today the score of the violin concerto [CONCERT FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHESTRA No. 1]. At the same time they have written to him from Prague saying that they would like the premiere to take place there in January or February and asking for an announcement as to when the material will be ready. He writes to Samuel Dushkin to let him know whether the score is definite and whether it is possible to start preparing the publication. The score will be scored in two copies, only the strings will be printed from the orchestral parts, the rest will only be printed in black ["schwarz"?]. Whether a piano excerpt will be published depends on how long Dushkin wants to have a monopoly on the piece, and how he and Martinu agree. Then he will have to have a piano lift produced. He also mentions being in London and his plans with Stravinsky and [Webster] Beveridge.
