Content and physical description

Content	Jan Seidel encloses a copy of the contract between the National Theatre and Bohuslav Martinů for the operating rights to JULIETTA. It is probably still valid today, JS is not aware of any further negotiations about the relationship between the heirs and Georges Neveux. The National Theatre, which will perform the opera in 1963, will send royalties in currency to Dilia; Dilia will arrange to transfer the amount to Neveux in foreign currency. Dilia should discuss any payment to Charlotte Martinů in currency with the Ministry of Education and Culture. The complete materials on JULIETTA are in the ND. The attached contract of 17 January 1935 gives the National Theatre the exclusive right to perform JULIETTA in Czech at the National Theatre, the Estates Theatre, or other Prague theatres. The directorate of the National Theatre holds the material, pays royalties and determines when and where within Prague the opera will be performed.
