Content and physical description
ContentDilia apologizes to Bohuslav Martinů for the late reply. JULIETTY's piano extracts are published by Melantrich, with about 1,500 copies still in stock. Melantrich therefore still holds the publishing rights. Dilia would be interested in representing BM, either on their own or in conjunction with a foreign publisher (Boosey & Hawkes, Universal Edition). They could split the activity: Dilia would represent BM in "people's democratic" countries and the London firm in other countries.
The same division would apply to the SPALK. Orbis received an enquiry about foreign rights from an English firm. The rest of the print run of piano lifts of ŠPALÍČK is about 1 002, the score is held by BM's siblings in Czechoslovakia. Dilia hopes that BM will have it reproduced in Prague from material he approved, i.e. not from the Brno score, which he later shortened.
Dilia asks BM to comment.
