Content and physical description
ContentThe writer was pleased to learn that Charlotte Martinů was doing well and that she had been thinking of him during the past difficult months. She is now with her family in Mainz and everything is going smoothly.
After the publishing house received Charlotte's letter, they easily traced the [autograph] manuscript of the piano lift of VIOLONCELL'S CONCERT No. 2 on transparent paper. They will send it to Charlotte in the next mailing and will also notify AMP. AMP is the publisher of this work, but the material was prepared at Schott.
SONATA FOR VIOLONCELLO No. 2 also belongs to AMP, so the sender writes to New York to have several copies sent to Charlotte. But the work should also be available from Éditions Max Eschig, representing AMP in France. The writer asks Charlotte to contact Eschig before he writes to New York. Heugel certainly had nothing to do with this work.
The writer asks Charlotte to acknowledge receipt of the shipment containing the manuscript of the piano recital of VIOLONCELL'S CONCERT NO. 2 and to write to him again when he contacts Eschig.
