Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů is delighted that Sergei Koussevitzky has included SYMPHONY No. 1 in the programme. He writes that he will need much encouragement this year, as he cannot hear out of his right ear and the overall recovery from the accident will take several months. He asks that SK let him know his plans for SYMPHONY No. 5. If he does not plan to deal with it now, he asks that the score be sent back to him. He will try to arrange for it to be played elsewhere. He sends his regards from France to Charlotte Martin. He will not be able to go to Europe until spring. He looks forward to seeing her in New York.
