Content and physical description

Content	The sender thanks you for your letter of 25 November 1955, and after today's meeting of the TYL House of Enlightenment, he informs that the date of 18 December 1955 [for the premiere of OPENING THE STUDIOS] would be unbearable - too early in the Christmas holidays and shortly after the concert on Bohuslav Martinů's birthday. So they want to open the Days of Enlightenment with the premiere on 7 January 1956 (Saturday). Zdeněk Zouhar is to announce the final form of the programme; instead of the opening speech there will be a lecture by Miloslav Bures (10-15 min). The whole evening will be preceded by an opening speech by the chairman of the ONV. Zouhar is to give organizational details and his demands. The LUT Regional Advisory Board in Pardubice has promised to record the concert on audio tape. P.S.: Miss Martinů is in hospital but will attend the concert on 8 December 1955. BM leaves the USA in May 1956 to settle definitively in Europe.
