Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů is thrilled that Charlotta Martinů has made her home in Prague. He wonders whether he has seen [Paul] Sacher and whether his wife [Maja Sacher] has come with him. He asks if [Karel] Šebánek has prepared money for her. KS wrote to him again today asking for a power of attorney. ChM is to forward the one BM wrote. If there are any problems, ChM can contact [Jan] Löwenbach or [Rudolf] Firkušný's brother [Leoš] Firkušný. [Alén] Diviš leaves on Friday, he will be in Prague for 15 days. BM is also interested in how ChM decided on the side of the visit of Maria [Martinů, in the sanatorium in Žamberk]. BM had to do a quick proofreading of [MUSIC SEXTET, version for string orchestra]. He asks if ChM will stay with Anna [Masaryk] and if she has seen [Čestmir] Puce. BM composes [CONCERT FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 3], but it doesn't go very well. [Louis] Speyer wrote him that RF had been a great success in Boston and [Elisabeth] Sprague-Coolidge wants to commission a new piece from BM for next season. BM has also received a letter from the pupils in Polička thanking him for all his music and wishing him a speedy recovery. BM was very touched by this and plans to reply to them.
