ContentPaul Sacher thanks the addressee (UE) for his letter of 16th of this month [see ID 5059], in which the publisher informs that the Basler Kammerorchester has received 100 copies of the choral parts of Bohuslav Martinů's EPOS ON GILGAMES. In order to be able to start rehearsals with the choir in mid-May, Sacher would be pleased to receive the composer's corrections, which he could take into account.

"[...] Empfangen Sie vielen Dank für Ihren Brief vom 16. d.M., in dem Sie mir mitteilen, dass hundert Chorparticelle zu Martinus ´Gilgamesch´ bereits an das Basler Kammerorchester abgegangen sind. Da wir mit den Chorproben erst Mitte Mai beginnen können, hätte ich es eigentlich vorgezogen, wenn vor der Absendung noch die Korrekturen des Komponisten hätten berücksichtigt werden können. [...]"
