Content and physical description
ContentPaul Sacher informs the addressee (UE) that he already has the second part of the piano extract of the EPOS ON GILGAMES by Bohuslav Martinů. He asks when he will receive the third part. He urgently needs seven copies of the piano lift in order to engage soloists. When can everything be sent? It would be very nice if it were possible to tie all three parts together.
Sacher cannot, of course, conduct the work from the composer's manuscript score as it is difficult to read. The production of the score is therefore necessary.

"[...] Den zweiten Teil des Klavierauszuges Martinu ´Gilgamesch´ habe ich ebenfalls erhalten. Wann bekomme ich den dritten? Ich brauche sobald als möglich sieben vollständige Klavierauszüge, damit ich die Solisten engagieren kann. Wann ist es Ihnen möglich, mir diese Anzahl zu liefern? Es wäre natürlich angenehm, wenn die drei Teile zusammengebunden wären.



Es ist mir vollständig unmöglich, das Werk aus der Manuskript-Partitur des Komponisten zu dirigieren, da ich die Schrift kaum entziffern kann. Die Erstellung einer Partitur ist deshalb unerlässlich. [...]"
