Content and physical description
ContentPaul Sacher confirms to the addressee (UE) that he has received the first part of the piano extract of Bohuslav Martinů's EPOS ON GILGAMES. In a postscript he says that he has just received a letter from the publisher dated 18.1.1957, and asks whether it is indeed not possible to send piano extracts for soloists during February. He cannot hire any singers unless he can show them the music! He therefore urges that the production of the piano lifts be expedited as arranged.

"[...] Den Klavierauszug zum ersten Teil von Martinus ´Gilgamesch´ habe ich erhalten. [...]



P.S. Soeben erhalte ich Ihren Brief vom 18.d.M. Ist es Ihnen wirklich nicht möglich, mir im Lauf des Monats Februar die Klavierauszüge für die Solisten zuzustellen? Ich kann keine Sänger verpflichten, ohne Ihnen die Musik zu zeigen! Darum bitte ich Sie dringend, die Herstellung der Klavierauszüge so voranzutreiben, dass sie mir rechtzeitig zur Verfügung stehen."
