Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes about a shipment of cigarettes for the ČF that he organized. He sends parcels with three cartons of cigarettes to different addresses. One to František Bartos and another to Václav Talich, Karel Šebánek, Karel Novák, Otakar Šourek and Jindřich Honzl. The shipment will arrive in about 2 months. Everyone should take one for himself and give the others to the boys in the CF. They ask to send 3 of the 18 cartons to Jan Svec's address in Merin. The credit for the shipment goes to A. Svec, so it would be good if the CF would send him greetings via BM. BM is sure that other shipments will follow. Have they decided which song they will play at the [Prague Spring] Festival? He would like to be present but there are considerable difficulties with travel. Much would be simplified if he and Rudolf Firkušný were invited by the government. When is the Festival actually taking place? How did the 2nd SYMPHONY turn out? Who will be invited from America? BM's disposition has changed and he has little news from Prague. He has had to sign various commitments. K. wrote to him. Novak about CF. He is looking forward to them and hopes to get to Prague in time. On the way he must stop in Paris to find the manuscripts left there.
