Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů apologizes for the late reply, he had the flu. He sends the requested documents and a description of his activities. His criticisms and programmes are in Prague and he writes to Melantrich to deliver them to Josef Schieszl for his dossier. He asks to circulate it as the only attachment, two years ago it was sufficient. Perhaps the other attachments could also be put in single folders. He also writes and has already written to all who could help, especially Václav Talich, Jan Kunc and Ing. Otakar Šourka, who supports him a lot. It would be good if JS would contact him by phone, he will certainly have a great influence. Should BM also write to the Minister or one of the referees (Matula, Povolny, Šebesta)? He doesn't know JB Foerster personally, but he could write to him as a member of the Academy. He will also find a way to Vítězslav Novák either directly or through Šourek. He will be supported abroad by [Josef] Palivec, and he does not know who has remained there from the circle of min. [Kamil] Krofta. Mr Jindra and [Václac] Štěpán could also help. But the main thing is probably to inform the minister directly. BM has received an invitation to Germany for the Baden-Baden festival, where they are playing his CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTR. Should he accept the invitation? Would it do any harm or good? Does JS know the director of the conservatory, [Wilhelm] Kurz? This time BM has great confidence that it will work out well. Many people in our country are aware of his work, but don't know if this is the case in influential political circles. Finally, BM asks JS to select what he thinks is appropriate from the dossier. If anything needs to be added, he will send other raferates and programmes.
