Content	Bohuslav Martinů would like to set to music Nikolai V. Gogol's short story about Ivan Špoňek from the collection Evenings at Dikanka [i.e. Evenings at an estate near Dikanka]. However, as this story is unfinished, BM asks Stanislav Minarek to write to him to see if there is a sketch of the completion in Gogol's estate, or if he could recommend another ending from Gogol's stories so that BM could finish it. If the piece is realised, BM asks for permission to draw on Stanislav Minarek's translation.
