ContentJan Kunc is awaiting news from the BM regarding the offered position of professor of composition at the Brno Conservatory and urges the BM to make a decision on this matter. The Ministry [of Education and Enlightenment of the Czechoslovak Republic] and the professorial staff of the Brno Conservatoire agree with BM's appointment. The writer heard a performance of BM's 2nd String Quartet by the Prague (Zico) Quartet in Brno and it was reportedly well played and a success. The award of the prize to the BM's Festive Overture had not yet been decided, and a new jury had to be convened.The writer believes that the prize will be awarded to the BM after all, as his composition is the only serious work on which the jury deliberates. The Celebrations Overture jurors fault the motif for its lack of expressiveness and little solemnity; the writer defends BM's conception. The BM writer will report on everything.
