Content and physical description
ContentEmil František Burian writes to BM about his relationship to BM and his music and about his planned unrealised trip to Paris to see BM. The writer describes the new small avant-garde opera scene [D 34] he has founded and asks BM to write a new opera for the scene, which the writer would premiere. The writer mentions the difficulty of obtaining new original compositions for the repertoire of this opera scene, and he approached Václav Trojan about it. In the meantime, the writer is staging his own operas, The Opera of the Fair and Forgive Me, and is considering staging an opera by Jacopo Perri. The writer also lists the instrumental and vocal ensemble of his small opera orchestra, which BM can count on for composition.
