Content and physical description
ContentHe telegraphs the reviews he has requested to Scheinpflug, the general music director and conductor of the Dresden Philharmonic; Scheinpflug is interested in The Tempest, but must seek the approval of the Dresden committee, to whom he will submit the reviews; "the thing has good prospects", the request for approval is "only formal"; the general intendant Tietjen advises to commission the Three Wishes in the autumn to the opera in Charlottenburg; the conjucture there has been improved by the fact that, in addition to Furtwängler, there will be a Kapellmeister "Dr Stiedry", whom H. knows well; he cannot send the piano extract of the opera to the UE because he is not finished with the translation; he could not devote himself completely to the work, he has only a cursory translation, which "requires careful adaptation to the notes"; Herzka (from the UE) was not in Berlin; H. He could not talk more about the opera with anyone; he is leaving "tomorrow" on vacation, where he is taking the elevator with him; he is leaving the 3 volumes of the score in Berlin; if BM wants to dispose of them, he should contact Prof. Kučera's deputy; he will return to Berlin in September and resume all steps for BM.
