Content and physical description
ContentJos Vranken has shown Schott the autograph of Bohuslav Martinů’s FIVE BRIGAND SONGS. They are very short, hence Schott proposes to add to them a piano part that would fill in the interludes. From his personal experience, Schott knows that similar choruses without accompaniment are difficult to perform. They would be grateful to BM if they also could see the other 7 choruses [evidently meaning FIVE BRIGAND SONGS II] and the translations of their texts. Are the two parts dependent on each other? Are the other 7 choruses as short as those in the first part? They ask to be sent typed copies of the original Czech texts. In the meantime, they have returned the autograph to JV.
